Chelmer Foods Limited was established in 1992 in the market town of Halstead in North Essex, by current Chairman Roger Weaire. The business now operates from its offices in Braintree, Essex, with an annual turnover in excess of £70 million.
The company sources Dried Fruit, Nuts, Seeds and Pulses from over 20 countries and supplies to cereal manufacturers, bakeries, snack food packers/processors, food service suppliers, retailers and related industries.

Our Founder & Chairman Roger Weaire
Roger started work at age 14 and cut his teeth as a “junior” for a City stockbroker. This had given him a taste for trading and dealing in commodities. so, over the years, he had worked his way up, holding a variety of positions which gave him the experience and understanding of shipping and trading internationally, especially in produce and dried fruit and nuts in particular.
In his late 40s and has spent over three decades working in the City as a trader and commodities broker, he was unemployed, with only a company car and three months’ salary in his pocket.
